German Association of Chefs
This is Germany's largest professional association. It represents the interests of the country's chefs and fosters the traditions of a major profession.
The German Association of Chefs was founded in Dresden in 1884 and converted to the International Association of Chefs (IVdK) in 1895. It was only in 1948 that it was able to be re-established under the name of the German Association of Chefs (VKD). By a year later, 16 branch associations had already been established. Today there are over 150 branch associations of the German Association of Chefs.
